WASHINGTON, D.C.U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made the following statement today after the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted to approve the nomination of John Bush of Kentucky, President Trump’s nominee to serve on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth District:

“I congratulate John Bush for being approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee today. Mr. Bush’s knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to fairness have earned him the strong support and respect of those who know him best, both Democrats and Republicans. A person of considerable ability, Mr. Bush will make a fine addition to the Sixth Circuit, and I look forward to the full Senate confirming him.”

‘After extensive consultations across the conference, numerous meetings with constituents, and intensive conversations with Members, our conference has updated last month’s Better Care discussion draft with additional provisions to make it even stronger. We just walked through that revised draft together. It is now available online. I encourage everyone to review it. As before, it aims to stabilize and reform the collapsing insurance markets that have left too many with no options under Obamacare, and it aims to make insurance more affordable and more flexible so it’s something Americans actually want to buy.’
‘The people we represent deserve more affordable health insurance. They deserve improved health-care choice. They deserve a more flexible Medicaid system that can help improve outcomes for those in need. They deserve a more responsive health care market that trusts the American people to make more of their own choices — not the government. That’s what we’ve been fighting for throughout this debate. That’s what we’re going to keep fighting for today.’
