WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released the following statement regarding Attorney General Barr’s release of the Special Counsel’s report:

“I’m grateful for the Attorney General’s diligent work to release as much of the Special Counsel’s report as possible to Congress and to the American people. The nation is fortunate to have an experienced leader like Bill Barr in place to ensure maximum possible transparency while carefully protecting classified material and legally restricted grand jury information. Like all of my colleagues, I look forward to carefully reviewing the report.”

WASHINGTON, DCU. S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made the following statement today regarding the passing of James “Buddy” Thompson:

“It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Buddy Thompson. Kentucky’s bourbon industry has lost one of its legendary figures, and I’ve lost a dear friend of 40 years. Buddy poured his passion into the promotion of Kentucky’s heritage, helping to honor our proud roots while also growing its bright future. Driven by a desire to serve his fellow veterans, he offered the oldest bourbon ever bottled and donated all the proceeds to worthy causes. With humility and generosity, Buddy made history. Buddy’s lifetime of achievements in business, civic leadership, and philanthropy left an imprint that will remain on his industry and on our Commonwealth for many years to come. Elaine and I send our sincere condolences to Buddy’s entire family and his many friends.”
