9/11: We Will Never Forget

September 8, 2017

LOUISVILLE, KYU.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell today released a video message regarding the 16th anniversary of 9/11:

Following is a transcript of the Majority Leader’s message:

“On a clear September morning sixteen years ago, our nation was changed forever.

“Today, we remember the victims of the horrific terrorist attacks of September 11th.

“We honor their families.

“We show our gratitude for the courageous men and women who put their lives in harm’s way every single day to keep us safe.

“And as one nation, we reaffirm our promise: we will never forget.”

At the outset of this week, I outlined three issues we needed to address immediately: provide resources for Hurricane Harvey recovery and Hurricane Irma preparedness, ensure that the government remains funded, and ensure that a default is prevented — so that the emergency resources I mentioned can actually get to Americans who need them. Let’s work together to act on this legislation quickly.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released the following statement today regarding President Donald Trump’s nomination of Rebecca Grady Jennings from Kentucky to serve on the United States District Court for the Western District:

“President Trump made another impressive selection by nominating Rebecca Grady Jennings, of Louisville, to serve as a district judge for the Western District of Kentucky. Rebecca is an award-winning litigator with a deep knowledge of the law and her community. She will use her skills to serve the people of Kentucky well on the federal bench, and I look forward to the Senate confirming her nomination.”
