WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced today that he has named Katelyn Conner to serve as his Legislative Director in his Kentucky Office in Washington, D.C. Katelyn, a Louisville, Kentucky native, will succeed Phil Maxson, who in April, the Senator promoted to be Chief of Staff in his Kentucky Office in Washington, D.C.
Since joining the Senator’s staff in 2010, Katelyn has served the Senator in many policy roles, most recently as Legislative Assistant. As Legislative Director, Katelyn will oversee all legislative matters for Senator McConnell’s Kentucky Office in D.C. and will help manage the policy staff, in addition to continuing to handle the Agriculture, Energy, Labor, and Education policy portfolios. Along with state visits, she will continue to communicate daily with Kentuckians and meet with various groups who visit the Senator’s office in the Nation’s Capital.
“Through the years, Katelyn has been a superb advocate for Kentucky’s interests in our Nation’s Capital,” Senator McConnell said. “She has consistently shown hard work, creativity, and a command of the issues. I am confident that she will continue to serve the Commonwealth of Kentucky well in this new role.”
