WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced today the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has awarded $210,960 for the Mountain Comprehensive Care Center in eastern Kentucky to assist veterans in the surrounding areas. Senator McConnell wrote a letter to the Department of Labor in support of his constituents’ application for the competitive grant. 

“Supporting our servicemembers and veterans is the least our nation can do for those who have sacrificed so much to protect us all,” said Senator McConnell. “This competitive federal grant will enable Mountain Comprehensive Care Center to continue its outstanding work to provide job training and employment services to low-income and homeless veterans in eastern Kentucky. This funding will help homeless veterans find well-paying jobs and viable career paths, which will benefit both the individuals served and the community.”

In 2014, Senator McConnell also assisted the Mountain Comprehensive Care Center in securing a $162,400 federal grant from DOL.
